New York Fashion Week Begins With Runway Shows, Fashion's Night Out: Live Stream in Times Square
New York Fashion Week has begun and the hottest styles are showing some sporty inspiration, streamlined edges and subtle colours. Four of the collections on the first day were "livestreamed" to the digital screens in Times Square, which is a first for the fashion show, to give New Yorkers and tourists alike, a taste of the glamour. After the day's runway shows, the fashionistas got set for Fashion's Night Out, a bit of celebrity spotting, music, giveaways and maybe even some shopping. Kim Kardashian was there promoting her new fragrance, as well as other big names such as Nicole Richie, and rapper Pharrell. New York Fashion Week, which was first held in 1943 when designers couldn't make it to Paris during WWII, is now one of the major fashion weeks along with London, Paris, and Milan.
