New Mass Grave Found in Bosnia: Victims' Bodies near Cerska, Srebrenica - Likely Bosnian Muslims
Bosnia has unearthed the remains of 10 people in what is the country's biggest mass grave to be found this year with forensic experts predicting over 20 more victims will be uncovered. The victims are thought to be Bosnian Muslims from the village of Cerska near Srebrenica. Experts believe they were killed during the Serbian occupation of Srebrenica in July 1995. Family members of the missing gathered around the mass grave, hoping to find the bodies of their loved ones. Serbian soldiers, led by general Ratko Mladic, overwhelmed the small town and executed thousands of Bosnian Muslims. Several Serb officers have been convicted for genocide and crimes against humanity committed in Srebrenica at the international war crimes tribunal in the Hague.
