Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a memorable 'Bibi Bomb' speech in New York last week, along with the other heads of nation who attended the annual UN General Assembly. However, Netanyahu received much media attention, and slight teasing, following his use of a cartoon bomb graphic in his speech-- an image he displayed in order to illustrate when a red line should be drawn when it comes to Iran's nuclear capability. Now that the Prime Minister is back in Israel, we asked people in Tel Aviv what they thought of the speech- the content, the delivery and the complementary props. Shortly after the speech, internet users began producing parody images of Netanyahu and the bomb, and sharing them online on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media websites. But some people found Netanyahu's speech and delivery excessive and disliked the simplicity in which a serious issue was portrayed via a cartoon. Some people thought Netanyahu's cartoon stunt was brilliant, while others felt it was unprofessional. But regardless of what people thought, Netanyahu definitely managed to get the world and the media's attention. Known to be a master of communications, his UN speech conveyed his continuous argument that time is running out to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power. Sivan Raviv, JN1, Israel.
