'Friends of the IDF' Sue and Win against Racist Shangri-La Hotel Owner: Tehmina Adaya Guilty
The young leadership division of the charitable group "Friends of the IDF" (FIDF) scheduled a pool party for their members in July 2010 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Santa Monica, California. But Pakistani Muslim, hotel owner Tehmina Adaya cancelled the event on the spot, after learning that the organization was a Jewish, pro-Israel group. The group's guests were refused access to the pool and Adaya was heard saying, "get the f'ing (expletive) Jews out of the pool!" Eighteen of the attending FIDF members sued for discrimination. After a 3-week trial and grueling deliberation period, Adaya was found guilty on all charges.
