Facebook defriends Hezbollah and Nasrallah

Social media giant Facebook has removed pages for Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, as well as for its associated al-Manar TV stations and its leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, for the second time this year. The militia group is regarded by many in the Muslim World as a resistance movement, but is classified by many Western countries - led by the US and Israel - as a terrorist organization. UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon recently spoke out against Hezbollah following a drone launch into Israeli air space, warning that such militias pose a serious threat to the country and the region. He also accused the group of flouting a UN resolution adopted in 2004 calling on non-government militant groups to disarm.
