2013 World Maccabiah Games Tryouts Begin in United States: Jewish Athletes to Compete in Israel
Tryouts for the 2013 World Maccabiah Games have begun in the United States. The games celebrated their 80th anniversary this year and over 7000 athletes from over 50 different countries are expected to compete in the games, which are held every 4 years. The Maccabiah games are the third-largest international sports competition in the world, but what stands out most for many veterans is the unique experience of unity and camaraderie that the games bring, as Jewish athletes from around the world assemble in Israel to connect and compete.
